Today is World AIDS Day
We’re 25 years into the pandemic and HIV is still a threat to men, women and
children all around the world, with no cure in the foreseeable future.
According to some estimates there are 38.6 million people living with HIV. World AIDS Day is important to remind people that HIV has not gone away. It is also a time to remember those who are no longer with us because of the disease, and that there are many things still to be done and things that we can do
to help stop the spread of HIV.
• Protect yourself and your partners – this is the first and best way to
stop the spread of HIV.
• Know your status and your partners. Never assume.
• If you are worried or not sure of your status – get tested – regularly.
• Raise awareness of HIV and AIDS in your area.
• Wear a red ribbon and ask others to do the same. World AIDS Day is not just a day abut raising money, but also about
increasing awareness, education, fighting prejudice and fighting AIDS.At Hot Desert Knights we practice what is known as “sero-sorting”. Sero-sorting means guys who are positive play only with other positive guys and guys who are negative play only with other negative guys. If everyone practiced sero-sorting it would stop AIDS dead in it’s track.We believe strongly that if you are HIV-, you should try to do everything possible to stay that way. The best way, of course is never to have sex with a partner. WE KNOW THAT ISN’T GOING TO HAPPEN. The next best way is to always cover your, or you partner’s cock with a condom and then the next best way is to practice sero-sorting in your personal lives.
Even though Hot Desert Knights makes only bareback films and are slogan is ”All Bareback….All The Time”, we don’t want to see anyone who is negative catch HIV. Yes, HIV is becoming a manageable disease and guys are living longer, but, guys are still dying from the disease and the medications necessary to manage the disease are expensive and sometimes have horrendous side effects. And, eventually, the body becomes resistant to the meds and quit working.
