Another FUCKING Homophobe in the Bush Administration
Just what we need….another FUCKING homophobe in the Bush White House. Will that stupid bastard never learn!
Read on. A commentary by Mark Kernes of AVN Magazine regarding the Bush Nomination of James W. Holsinger as Surgeon General. Gawd, when you read this shit it just proves how fucking stupid George Bush really is and how out of touch he and the republican party is with what most Americans truly believe.
I saw it on a t-shirt the other day….a picture of George W. with the words….”For God’s Sake, Will Someone Give Him a Blow Job so we can Impeach him”. So fucking true.
Commentary: Just What We Need…Another Bigot in the Cabinet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Following the very quiet resignation of Surgeon General Richard Carmona last July, the Bush administration has been searching for a replacement, and now thinks it’s found one, in the person of James W. Holsinger, a cardiologist and currently a professor at the University of Kentucky – and author of an article titled “Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality,” which argues that anal sex, a staple of adult video fare and frequent practice of gay males, is “intuitively” unnatural.
Ever since the post’s creation in 1871, the Surgeons General of the United States have performed important (if generally unsung) functions. The earliest ones concerned themselves with developing federal quarantine policies and dealing with the epidemics that had cropped up – yellow fever, smallpox, bubonic plague, typhoid – in various areas of the nation, while later ones concentrated more on general health policies.
For example, Warren Harding’s Surgeon General (S.G.) Hugh Cumming established the first National Institute of Health, and had built two hospitals for the treatment of drug addicts; FDR’s Thomas Parran arranged for federal funds to identify and treat sufferers of syphilis (which, sadly, also resulted in the infamous Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male); and S.G. Leonard A. Scheele championed both nationwide polio vaccination and public drinking water fluoridation programs.
In more modern times, Truman’s S.G. Leroy Edgar Burney was the first to identify cigarette smoking as a cause of lung cancer; a concern that carried through the S.G. administrations of JFK’s Luther Terry and Nixon’s Jesse Steinfeld, under whose tenure the National Cancer Act of 1971 was passed.
With most Republican presidential candidates now claiming a philosophical kinship with Ronald Reagan, some may wish to consider the relatively liberal philosophy and actions of Reagan’s S.G., C. Everett Koop. For instance, in 1988, Koop published a report stating that nicotine, the active ingredient in cigarettes, is as addictive as heroin or cocaine. He also championed comprehensive sex education in public schools, and mailed to every household in the U.S. a report on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), a disease which had first been identified during his tenure, noting various sex acts and their likelihood to transmit the disease. Wrongly “credited” with authoring a report on the adverse effects of abortion on women, Koop refused to state, though pressured to do so, that abortions performed by qualified medical professionals posed a substantial health risk.
Certainly one of the most intelligent S.G.s was Jocelyn Elders, who served under Bill Clinton until asked to resign over her views on sex. Though an advocate for the exploration of the possibility of legalizing recreational drug use, what got her fired was her statement at a 1994 United Nations conference on HIV, when asked if masturbation could be used to prevent fellatio and intercourse among teenagers, where she answered, “I think that it is part of human sexuality, and perhaps it should be taught.” Way wrong answer for the growing legions of religio-conservatives, many of whose representatives had been elected to form Republican majorities in both houses of Congress that year.
More recently, in an episode of “Penn & Teller’s Bullshit,” she stated, “We know that more than 70 to 80% of women masturbate, and 90% of men masturbate … and the rest lie,” and observed, “As long as I was in Washington, I never met anybody that I thought was good enough, who knew enough or who loved enough to make sexual decisions for anybody else.” Elsewhere, she also noted, “Condoms will break, but I can sure you that vows of abstinence will break more easily than condoms.”
With those Surgeon General achievements as background, let’s consider candidate James Holsinger.
Gay sex, Holsinger warned in his 1991 paper “Pathophysiology of Male Homosexuality,” “can lead to “lacerations, perforations and deaths… The anatomic and physiologic facts of alimentation [digestion] and reproduction simply do not change based on any cultural setting. In fact, the logical complementarity of the human sexes has been so recognized in our culture that it has entered our vocabulary in the form of naming various pipe fittings either the male fitting or the female fitting depending upon which one interlocks within the other. When the complementarity of the sexes is breached, injuries and diseases may occur as noted above.”
But for Holsinger, one “female fitting” is not necessarily as good as another.
“Anatomically the vagina is designed to receive the penis,” Holsinger wrote. “It is lined with squamous epithelium and is surrounded by a muscular tube intended for penile intromission … The anus and rectum, unlike the vagina[,] contain no natural lubrication function. Thus insertion of unlubricated objects or inadequate dilation of the anus before insertion of a large object can result in tissue laceration.”
Apparently, the various lubes like Astroglide or KY are not part of “God’s plan”; nor, apparently, do heterosexuals engage in anal sex.
Holsinger is a member of the United Methodist Judicial Council, a church “court” that has the final say on disputes involving church doctrine and policies involving America’s second-largest Protestant denomination. The Book of Discipline, the church’s governing document, says that “all persons are of sacred worth” and that “all people” may become members, but also claims that “the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching” and therefore, “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” cannot become ordained ministers.
Because of such teachings, Holsinger, as a member of the Judicial Council, voted against a decision to allow a gay woman become an associate pastor, and gave his support to a pastor who wanted to exclude a gay man from membership in that pastor’s congregation.
“Anyone who knows Jim Holsinger knows that he’s not an individual given to prejudice,” said Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher, who in April, 2006, signed an executive order removing protections for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (GLBT) from the state’s affirmative action plan.
Fletcher, it may be remembered, raised eyebrows in 2005 by pardoning nine members of his administration for all impending criminal charges pertaining to their hiring, firing, promoting and demoting civil servants based on their political loyalties. Fletcher also invoked his Fifth Amendment rights when questioned by the grand jury investigating those charges, and was later indicted on 29 counts related to the merit hiring violations. Fletcher is also a strong advocate of intelligent design, claiming that the teaching of evolution violates the Declaration of Independence.
But Holsinger isn’t just bigoted against gays; he also runs a ministry that claims to help cure them.
“We see that [homosexuality] as an issue not of orientation but of lifestyle,” said Rev. David Calhoun, pastor of the Hope Springs Community Church, which Holsinger and his wife founded. “We have people who seek to walk out of that lifestyle.”
Apparently ignorant of the mounting evidence that homosexuality is partly if not mostly determined by one’s genetic makeup, the official White House announcement of Holsinger’s candidacy claims, “As America’s chief health educator, he will be charged with providing the best scientific information available on how Americans can make smart choices that improve their health and reduce their risk of illness and injury.”
“America doesn’t need a Surgeon General who supports ‘reparative therapy’ and anti-gay dogma masquerading as science,” said Jeff Lutes, a licensed psychotherapist and executive director of Soulforce, an organization that fights for freedom from religious and political oppression for the GLBT community. “If Holsinger bars gays and lesbians from his own church, how will he treat them as the nation’s chief physician? What America needs now is some ‘reparative theology’–a force of fair-minded people of faith who will take an unwavering stand against religion gone bad and choose instead to welcome and affirm gay and lesbian people into full citizenship.”
In nominating Holsinger, President Bush said the cardiologist will focus on childhood obesity.
But George: What if the fat kid is gay?
I have to even end this post with….”hope you enjoy”….no way anyone can enjoy the stupidity of George Bush.
Why the fuck can’t the republicans just mind their own goddamn business and let everyone love the way they want to love? How I or you love is no one’s business but own own and the person we love. The photo below, shows the type of love I like…what about you guys?

And what’s wrong with good old fashioned sex? Well the wonderful republican right wing extremist, which seem to be controlling today’s politicians, will tell you that sex without procreation is wrong. Screw them!….I like the good old fashioned sex…WITHOUT proceation…..like this clip shows…….> COCKED AND LOADED Or this one…….>HUNG HOUSE HUSBANDS
And to the FCC, who is trying to censure what we see on TV…and to the Attorney General who is trying stop us from watching porn in the privacy of our own homes and to the new nominated Surgeon General who says that gay sex is wrong and not natural, I say: Fuck you all and mind you own damn business! As this clip so clearly indicates:—-> FUCK YOU

Hi,Bill! Give the guy a break
The Bible does condemn any sex outside of marriage, gay or straight. I am a christian as well. The same Bible that declares Jesus to be the Son of God and the One who paid the price on the cross for our sins(and have I commited tons!)speaks against greed, jealousy, hate, etc. I can’t pick and choose what I want. Either I accept it all or I must reject it all.
Holsinger is just being true to his faith. I’m the hypocritical one. I try to have it both ways. I do enjoy seeing guys bareback and deposit loads up asses and down throats, and I love those sweet manholes. But I also know I am a sinner and in need of a Savior. At least Holsinger is consistent. I wish I were, but alas I’m not. But God is not through with me yet
Love ya Bill!
Hi Don,
Thanks for you comment. Nope, sorry, can’t give the guy a break. While I certainly agree that he has the right to his own personal opinions, as do you and I, he does not have the right to use a PUBLIC office to force his PERSONAL opinions down our collective throats.
Religion and politics should never mix, but unfortunately, the jerk we have in the white house doesn’t believe that thus, he keeps appointing the right wing religious zealots to public office and then they try to take away our rights. C’mon, he is supposed to represent ALL the people. And the current republican administration believes that they only need to represent those whom they think will vote for them.
And sweetie, I love you to!!!
Hugs,
Bill
Christ did not pay the price for our sins on the cross. That’s very antiquated, outdated thinking. Current theologians that have studied relentlessly, rather than take the organized church’s interpretation, agree that death on the cross was a result of the determination of a brave, intelligent man to fly in the face of Roman tyranny, and a system that abused people who weren’t considered worthy of anything except being slaves. My Bible tells me that everyone is worthy of love, affection, and the right to be who they are. Affirming a person means recognizing the worth of that person. That’s why my church - the UCC - means in its declaration of “Open and Affirming”. I think the author’s take on this obscene nomination and the obscene administration of George Dubya Bush is right on. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Hi,Gordon. With all due respect, I will believe the Bible which has withstood thousands of years and critics. There are many intelligent theologians who would disagree with you. We are all sinners and deserve Hell, but Christ died in our place. The Bible says all have sinned and fallen short. It goes on to say in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death but the Gift of God is eternal life. Christ said I am the way, the truth and the life, not a way but The way. I assume you like porn as I do and especially Bill’s style
We have that in common. But I would ask you to read your bible, starting with John and Romans. God is not a killjoy. He invented sex and our enjoyment of it. All things are good, but we as humans do pervert everything. I’m banking on what Christ did on that cross. I am a sinner and know it LOL
Gordon I love you in spite of our differences and would welcome your cock and/or tongue in my ass any time!
The good thing about our community…well, most in our community, is that we can agree to diagree and we are willing to let others live their lives as they wish without condemning them
The disagreement over the meaning of the Bible has been going on since the first version was written. As they say….best to avoid arguing over politics and religion. the problem today is that there are those that think the two should be combined, and that is just plain wrong. And those that believe the two should be combined are intolerant of anyone who doesn’t believe what they believe.
Everyone has a right to their own opinions and beliefs. But no one has the right to shove their beliefs or opinions on to others.
Hugs to you all!
Bill
Don, I didn’t mean to start a discussion of biblical interpretations. I suppose we’re both right, but you’re not going to allow that. You speak like a true conservative, reminding us again of what the church has said in its effort to control persons for, as you said, thousands of years. I have always been a churchman - I’m 75 next August - and I’ve spent lots of time with this issue. But thanks for letting us know your thoughts.
Gordon
