Porn Slip Costs TV Tech One Week’s Pay

AUCKLAND — Ever have one of those days when you wish you’d just stayed in bed? A technician at a French Polynesian television network had one of them in early March when he accidentally aired part of an adult movie he intended to view in private.
About three minutes of the unnamed porn video made it onto the air at about 2:00 pm, 20 minutes after a religious program had ended. According to station management, about 52 seconds of the material was explicit.
“It is funny, yes, but not really to us,” TNTV General Director Haupert Ives told the Australian Associated Press.
According to Ives, the technician was engaged in taping a program from a Paris satellite feed for later airing when he decided to view adult entertainment on another channel.
“He didn’t see that he taped not the program that came in by satellite, but the channel he was looking at,” Ives said. “His second error was that he didn’t verify the [integrity of the] program [he taped]. Normally you tape the program, and afterwards it is verified.”
The technician was suspended without pay for one week.
The March 3rd incident sparked about a dozen angry calls to the Tahiti Nui television network, according to the AAP.

As I read this article a smile crossed by face thinking how shocked some of the folks “down under” must have been, especially those who had just watched the religious program. But, when I saw that only 52 people called in to the station to complain I started thinking about how the “religious” folks would have reacted in the good of U. S. of A.
Recalling the reaction, or should I say “over-reaction”, when Janice Jackson showed her titty for a second or two, I could only imagine how our religious fanatics would have responded to the showing of 52 seconds of hardcore sexually explicit sex on television throughout America in the middle of the afternoon.
I’m sure that the James Dobson’s and other religious nuts in this country would have called to arms all of their blind followers and what would have followed would have been hundreds of thousands of phone calls and letters to the TV station, to the FCC and to good ol’ Dubya in the White House. Hell, Americans would have freaked out.
I guess I’ll just never understand why it is that in this country so many, are so damned uptight and prudish and just down right afraid to admit that sex is good and healthy and normal. It’s no wonder that a lot of the rest of the world think that Americans are just plain anal retentive when it comes to sex and nudity.
Take a look at Christian Volt here….tell me he isn’t nice to look at. Don’t cha’ just love a big ol’ burly man with a nice uncut cock!
Oh well, those of us who live in America love this country and wouldn’t trade it for the world, but I sure do wish that the religious nuts in this country would just start minding their own damn business and recognize that sex is good….and, stop trying to shove their beliefs down our throats.
